FAQs

No. We simply ask that riders come dressed appropriately for their session, wearing full-length trousers and boots with a small heel (approximately 1 inch/2.5cm).
Riding helmets can be borrowed from all three of our partner yards if required, although we recommend purchasing your own if you plan to ride regularly. Gloves are also strongly recommended, particularly during the winter months, for both comfort and safety.
And, of course, your horse will be provided for you!

For the long-term welfare of the horse, UK guidance recommends that the combined weight of the rider and tack should not exceed 20% of the horse’s body weight. As a result, weight limits may vary slightly depending on the horses available at each yard.
Our current weight limits are:
- Edenside Stables: 13 stone (183 lbs / 83 kg)
- Barbarafield Riding School: 14 stone (196 lbs / 88.9 kg)
- Drumcarrow Equestrian: No weight restriction
If you have any questions or concerns about suitability, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

All lessons and hacks are booked via email. Each week, we send a sign-up form to our mailing list, allowing members to register for as many or as few sessions as they wish, depending on their schedule and budget.
When booking, we will ask for some details, including your height, weight, and riding experience, so that the yard can match you with a suitable horse. This information is submitted through the booking form and shared only with the relevant riding yard.

Our preferred method of payment is PayPal. Payment details are included in the weekly sign-up emails.
If you have any questions about payment, please feel free to contact the club and we’ll be happy to help.
